Univad Partners with Rosary College, to Introduce Agentic AI to Students

The partnership will provide selected students with scholarship-supported access to structured learning in Agentic AI, beginning a broader effort to introduce emerging technology education to young learners.

Univad, an online learning institution building Africa’s Career Ecosystem, has partnered with Rosary College, Nise, in the Catholic Diocese of Awka, to expand access to Agentic AI education for senior secondary school students.

The partnership will commence through the Univad Senior Secondary School Scholarship Programme, which will provide selected students with access to structured learning designed to introduce them to Agentic AI, its practical applications and its growing relevance across industries.

Agentic AI refers to artificial intelligence systems capable of planning and carrying out tasks towards defined objectives, with appropriate human guidance and oversight. As these technologies continue to influence how people learn, work and solve problems, early exposure can help students develop foundational technical knowledge, critical thinking, creativity and an understanding of responsible AI use.

Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies beyond conventional classroom instruction and begin understanding how artificial intelligence can be applied to real-world challenges. The programme is designed to complement their existing education while broadening their exposure to fields that may shape future academic and career opportunities.

Expanding access to emerging technology education

The partnership reflects Univad’s commitment to making relevant, career-oriented education accessible to young people at different stages of their educational journeys.

As part of its broader work to build Africa’s Career Ecosystem, Univad is extending opportunities to secondary school students, recognising the value of introducing them to emerging fields before they make decisions about further education and career pathways.

In his statement, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Amakaeze, Manager of Rosary College, Nise, said:

“We welcome this opportunity to broaden our students’ exposure to emerging technologies through a structured learning experience. We look forward to encouraging curiosity, creativity and responsible technology use as our students explore the possibilities presented by Agentic AI.”

The initiative also aligns with the growing need for young people to understand not only how to use artificial intelligence tools, but also how these technologies function, where they can be applied and why responsible use matters.

Rosary College, Nise, is the starting point for this initiative within the Catholic Diocese of Awka, with the potential for the programme to reach additional schools as further arrangements are established.

Mike Ikenwa, Founder and CEO of Univad, said:

“Young people should have the opportunity to understand the technologies shaping their future, not simply encounter them when they enter the workforce. Through this partnership, we are extending access to Agentic AI education to secondary school students and creating room for them to learn, experiment and begin exploring what they can build with these technologies.”

Univad and Rosary College, Nise, will begin with the scholarship-supported learning initiative, with the intention of exploring opportunities to extend the programme to other eligible secondary school students and schools within the Catholic Diocese of Awka, subject to the necessary arrangements and approvals.

The collaboration represents a step towards broadening access to emerging technology education and helping young learners build a foundation for further learning, creativity and future participation in a technology-driven world.
